DCD Rights Announces Bumper Music Sales
With Pink, The Killers, Take That and Kings of Leon
LONDON: October 2009 – Following MIPCOM 2009,
Leading UK distributor DCD Rights announces a host of sales for some of its newest live music titles to the US, UK, Latin America, Australia and Europe.
Pink: Funhouse (1x90’), has been sold to Channel 4, UK, NRJ12 (France) Turner (Latin America), VH1 (USA) and (XYZ) Australia, and ZDF (Germany). Pink gets the crowd to their feet with a one of a kind spectacular stage show, performing live to a sell out crowd in Sydney as part of her brand new ‘Funhouse’ world tour. A phenomenally successful tour so far with 1milion tickets worldwide to date, and the biggest ever tour in Australian history.
The Killers Live at the Royal Albert Hall (1x60’ /90’) has been licensed to XYZ (Australia) and ZDF (Germany). Filmed in HD, The Killers perform live to a sell out crowd at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall during their current world tour.
Take That Live at Wembley Arena (1x60’ /90’) licensed to Turner (Latin America), XYZ (Australia). Take That perform to a sell our crowd at London’s Wembley Stadium. The stage extravaganza sees the four boys reach new heights in entertainment as they wow the crowd with their classic hits from the early days, to their recent albums.
Kings of Leon Live at the 02 (1x90’), has also been picked up by (XYX) Australia. As part of their recent sell out world tour, Kings of Leon perform hit after hit at the O2 Arena; with over 5 million albums sold in the past 12months, Kings of Leon are one of the hottest band in the world right now.

Leading UK distributor DCD Rights is pleased to announce that it has sold a clutch of new top factual shows including Last Chance To See and 45 Stone Virgin to Europe, Japan and Australia.
Last Chance To See (6x60’) – Stephen Fry’s brand new series currently transmitting on BBC2 in which Fry and Mark Carwardine set out on an adventure of a lifetime to track down animals on the edge of extinction has been sold to ABC (Australia), NRK (Norway) Sky Network (New Zealand), UK TV (second window for the UK) and Madman Entertainment (Australia for DVD). The video of Carwardine’s hot encounter with a Kakapo has become a You Tube sensation, receiving more than a million hits since transmission 2 weeks ago, generating a significant online following in the UK and beyond.
45 Stone Virgin, TLC’s highest rated documentary of 2009, has so far been sold to RTL (Netherlands), Discovery Europe (EMEA) Network Ten (Australia), MTV3 (Finland), NRK (Norway), TVNZ (New Zealand), and Viasat (Sweden and Denmark). The documentary follows thirty-one year old David Smith from Arizona who has gone from a morbidly obese loner to a healthy, happy fitness instructor, losing over 28 stone in weight without gastric bypass surgery, generating media attention from all over the world.
Child Frozen In Time (1x 60’) produced for TLC explores the unique case of Brooke Greenberg, who at sixteen resembles a 7 month old infant, a condition so rare that doctors simply call it Syndrome X, and believe that if they can find the cause they may discover the secret of ageing. The film has sold to documentary RTL (Netherlands), MTV3 (Finland), Nine Network (Australia), NRK (Norway), Viasat (Sweden and Denmark) and Yes DBS (Israel)
Half Ton Son produced for Channel 4 earlier this year, follows the journey of Billy Robbins - the world’s heaviest teenager as he makes the decision to turn his life around, undergoing several operations in the process and learning to be completely independent from his mother, has been picked up by RTL (Netherlands), Discovery Europe (EMEA), MTV3 (Finland), Nine Network (Australia), RTL (Belgium), RTL (Germany) SBS (Belgium), Nippon (Japan) TV Norge (Norway), TVNZ (New Zealand), Viasat (Sweden and Denmark).
